Full-time faculty position in Cultural Studies of the Middle East and North Africa

The International University of Rabat (UIR) is the first university to have been set up as part of a partnership between the Moroccan State and the private sector in the field of higher education. This partnership allows UIR to work towards the attainment of its objectives: excellence in education, research, and active participation in the socio-economic development of the region and the kingdom, at large.

The College of Humanities and Legal, Political, and Social Sciences at l'Université Internationale de Rabat (UIR) Morocco, invites applicants with a solid background on the Cultural studies of the Middle East and North Africa for a full-time, permanent position of an Assistant professor OR an Associate Professor.

The successful applicant is expected to teach or supervise the teaching of a wide range of Bachelor and Master level courses focused on the MENA region.

Potential candidates for this position should show proof of a good command of oral communication and written language skills in both French and English, as both of them are used as languages of instruction.

Besides, candidates should be able to demonstrate methodological competencies teaching mixed groups of International and National students; they are also expected to show well-developed interpersonal skills working effectively in diverse interdisciplinary, multinational and pluricultural classes. Prior experience and/or familiarity with the American-style liberal arts educational system will be a strong plus.

We expect the applicant to hold a) recognition for scholary activities ans research b) excellent qualifications in classroom teaching, c) strong abilities in student mentoring, d) commitment ans service to the institution.

He/she should demonstrate proven teaching experience, research scholarship and supervision skills in MENA related area studies. Commitment to enforce institutional vision ans mission policies and procedures as well as respect of institutional code of ethics is a must.
